- Aviation Centre
The Australian Aviation Heritage Centre offers impressive
displays of past and present aircraft as well as historical
information on the Northern Territory’s aviation throughout
history. From some of the first planes in Australia to military
aircraft used during World War II our guided tours can take
you through the rich and diverse aviation history of the
Territory.
- Botanic Gardens
The Darwin Botanic Gardens are just two kilometres north
of the Darwin City Centre and covers 42 hectares. The garden
has a big commitment to local Northern Territory plants
and boasts a collection of over 400 tropical palms as well
as a waterfall, walking trails, playground, orchid farm
and much more.
- Crocodile Farm
The Darwin Crocodile Farm is located just 38 kilometres
south of Darwin and is home to some 10,000 crocodiles. The
crocodiles range in size from hatchlings just a few centimetres
long to large males over five metres in length.Most tourists
choose to visit during the twice-daily feeding time when
the large animals leave their water holes to be hand fed
by the experienced handlers. The Darwin Crocodile Farm also
offers a unique opportunity to sample a range of crocodile
meat products as well as crocodile skin souvenirs.
- Darwin Harbour
Although it is a little known fact, Darwin Harbour is actually
twice the size of the better-known Sydney Harbour. Darwin
Harbour has many attractions worth visiting including pearl
farms, sunken ships from World War II and stunning beaches.
A cruise is the ideal way to see everything the area has
to offer.
- Kakadu National Park
The Kakadu National Park is a vast reserve and its international
appeal and cultural significance has led to a World Heritage
listing for the area. The Kakadu National Park covers some
20,000 square kilometres and is one of Australia’s
most diverse and spectacular parks. The area is made even
more significant by the abundance of Aboriginal rock art
some dating back as far as 25,000 years.
- Mindil Beach Market
Mindil beach is a popular tourist spot, but on Thursday
and Sunday nights in the dry season families are able to
visit the entertaining beach market. With a wide array of
foods displaying the multicultural appeal of the Northern
Territory to crafts, fresh goods and entertainment.
- Museum & Art Gallery of the NT
The Museum and Art Gallery of the NT is a unique opportunity
to uncover the diverse history and art of the territory
and surrounding regions. Particularly notable is the museum’s
extensive collection of Aboriginal art and historical materials
covering work from Arnhem Land, Bathurst and Melville islands.
